5 enrichment games for indoor cats

Indoor cats are safe, but boredom is real. A few short sessions a day prevent over-grooming, weight gain and 3am zoomies.

1. Wand hunting

Move a wand toy like prey — dart, pause, hide. Let your cat 'catch' it regularly so the hunt has a payoff.

2. Treat puzzles

Hide kibble or treats in a puzzle feeder. Sniffing and pawing for food is the most natural enrichment there is.

3. The tunnel ambush

A collapsible tunnel creates a pounce zone. Rotate it to a new room each week to renew the novelty.

4. Vertical patrol & 5. Window watch

Give them a high perch and a clear window — vertical space and 'cat TV' (birds, leaves) reduce stress dramatically.

Finish every session with a small treat and a slow blink. Play should end on a win.
